While being operated, a game system can permit a job of incorporating a new game device 10 into a multi-player game system at work and a job of cutting off any game device 10 from the game system at work. Each game device 10 comprises a master/slave setting unit 60 for detecting the presence of data transmitted over a transmission line 24 when the game device itself starts, and for setting itself in a master machine mode when no transfer data are present, and setting itself in a slave machine mode when some transfer data are present, and an entry accepting signal receiving and transmitting unit 62 for receiving and transmitting an entry accepting signal, which accepts entry into the game system, between it and the slave machine at the time of setting in the master machine mode. |
