Modular building system with rectangular cross section tubular metal sections with the inner sections having arrays of captive nuts which align with holes in the outer sections

A modular building section has rectangular cross section tubular metal sections and with connecting sections (18) which fit inside the sections. The connecting sections have lines of captive nuts (22) on each face which align with holes (14) in the outer sections and take connecting screws. One end of the connecting section is provided with slots (26) for fitting to other frame sections. The captive nuts are riveted into the sections and their outer ends are flush mounted. The fittings have more captive nuts than the outer holes to provide length adjustment. Angled side sections (32) are bolted to the outside of the main sections to support side frames and other fittings. The structure is made of light alloy or of other suitable metals.
