PURPOSE: A system and a method for an online credit card settlement using a mobile communication terminal are provided to reduce a risk for information outflow by transferring a card number and a password through a card settlement server, and transmitting an approval result to a shopping mall server if settlement process between the mobile communication system and a card company is completed. CONSTITUTION: A PG(Payment Gateway) server(520) receives a settlement request message from the shopping mall server(400), and generates settlement request information including the message and shopping mall information. The PG server requests settlement by transmitting the card information and purchase information to the card company server(700), if the card information and the password are received from a user. The card settlement server(510) receives the settlement request information from the PG server and generates/transmits a text settlement message including the settlement request information to the mobile communication terminal(100). As the mobile communication terminal requests the settlement, the card settlement server obtains/transmits the card information and the password to the PG server.
