IMAGE ENCODER, METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR IMAGE ENCODING IMAGE DECODER, AND PROGRAM FOR IMAGE DECODING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoder capable of compression-encoding images to compression data with a low bit rate.

SOLUTION: A predicted residual image is generated by the differential calculation of a predicted image which is generated by a motion compensation prediction part 2, and an encoding target frame. The predicted residual image is decomposed by a conversion part 8 by a Matching Pursuits method (an MP method) in a moving image encoder 1. The predicted residual image is decomposed by the conversion part 8 by using a base set based on a two-dimensional function in which a parameter for bending such a two-dimensional pattern is imparted to a generating function for generating a prescribed two-dimensional pattern. The predicted residual image can be decomposed with the smaller number of times of the repeat processing on the basis of the MP method by such a constitution. As a result, the predicted residual image can be decomposed to the smaller number of atom information. Accordingly, the moving image compression data with the low bit rate can be generated.
