PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulation material for automobile that has excellent water resistance and oil resistance with a long life. SOLUTION: This heat insulating material is produced by forming inorganic fiber into a mat, bonding fiber of polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene or polypropylene to the mat with a binder and surrounding the fiber-bonded mat with a nonwoven fabric having at least one face needle-punched.
