HOLLOW FIBER FLUID TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber fluid treatment apparatus which inhibits activity of a blood coagulation system by removing a burr generated in an opening of a hollow fiber membrane. SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane of the hollow fiber fluid treatment apparatus has an asymmetric membrane structure. A sealant which seals a gap between the hollow fiber membrane and a case for housing the membrane is not impregnated in the hollow fiber membrane on the surface of the opening end of the hollow fiber membrane. The burr on the surface of the opening end of the hollow fiber membrane is melted and removed using a heat source, and a rate of burr generation on the surface of the opening end of the hollow fiber membrane is less than or equal to 20% of all the hollow fiber membrane.
