PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode capable of restraining non-luminescence in the entire area of a luminescent surface due to a short circuit of an organic EL element constituting respective pixels, simply manufacturable at a low cost, and capable of easily forming respective layers constituting the organic EL element by application or printing; to provide its manufacturing method; and to provide an organic EL element using the electrode. SOLUTION: This island-shaped electrode is formed by being separated on a substrate, and is characterized by that the electrode is connected to a wire for feeding a current to the electrode through a wire melted down or broken down by an overcurrent to be electrically insulated.
