PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anisotropic damper which are excellent in a vibration damping effect of a mechanical chassis in order to suppress wobbling of a disc in a vertical direction and can shorten the lead time in mass production, and a manufacturing method for the anisotropic damper. SOLUTION: Regarding a damper 11 comprising a block rubber elastic material for holding the mechanical chassis, equipped with a noncontact read device for a disc shaped recording medium, in a thickness direction in order to support for vibration insulation, on the above rubber elastic body as a single material, an orientation part 15 of a magnetic particles parallel to the thickness direction of the mechanical chassis is formed as a unit. Because, in the orientation part 15 in which the magnetic particles exist thickly strung together like beads in the rubber elastic material, an E value is partly higher than the other parts, the vibration for the mechanical chassis along the vertical direction of the disc is suppressed by the orientation part 15, and the wobble of a spinning disc can be reduced.
