PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene copolymer gum) composition used for a molding material for torsional dampers that does not require secondary crosslinking and forms a crosslinked layer having stable physical properties in a high temprature atmosphere of approximately 120-140°C. SOLUTION: The EPDM composition contains an EPDM (VNB (vinyl norbornene) type EPDM) whose diene component is vinyl norbornene or a blend of the EPDM and an EPDM (ENB (ethylidene norborne) type EPDM) whose diene component is ethylidene norbornene and an organic peroxide. The amount of dicumyl peroxide P used to 70 pts. wt. of the EPDM component is not less than pts. wt. determined by P=-aX+1.6 (wherein X is wt.% of the VNB type EPDM in the EPDM component; (a) is 0.013).
