POLYMERIZABLE GELLING AGENT AND GEL OBTAINED BY USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable gelling agent which, when mixed with a liquid organic substance and polymerized, can convert the liquid organic substance into a gel excellent in heat resistance, to provide a gel obtained by using such a polymerizable gelling agent, and to provide a method for producing such a gel. SOLUTION: The polymerizable gelling agent is formed from a bifunctional (meth)acrylate represented by formula (I) (wherein R is a divalent organic group; and R1is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group). The gel is formed by retaining a liquid organic substance in a matrix comprising a crosslinked polymer prepared by polymerizing the polymerizable gelling agent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
