PURPOSE: A method of controlling a transmission standby time is provided to control the whole networks by a centralized data communication system having various networks, thereby effectively assigning transmission bandwidths while controlling a transmission standby time of transmission target data. CONSTITUTION: A transmission request signal is received in a home gateway system(S400). A controller of the home gateway system compares transmission bandwidth sizes of the first network and the second network(S410). If a bandwidth of the first network is bigger than that of the second network, the controller increases a basic transmission standby time determining value, and calculates a transmission standby determining value(S420). The controller calculates a transmission standby time(S430). The controller applies the calculated transmission standby time when transmitting transmission target data(S440). The transmission target data is transmitted to the second network apparatus(S480).
