PURPOSE: A method for supplying location information by mixing a DBM(Data Burst Message) method and a TCP/IP method is provided to enable a PDE(Positioning Determination Entity) to transmit obtained GPS position information to a client server via an MPC(Mobile Positioning Center), and to supply a service to the client server by using location information of an MS, thereby flexibly using a DBM method or a TCP/IP method. CONSTITUTION: A user requests location information by designating an MS in connection with a client server(S1). The client server determines whether to use either a DBM method or a TCP/IP method to supply a location based service(S2). If the DBM method is used, the client server transmits a location request signal including information on the DBM method to an MPC(S4). An HLR receives an SMREQ(System Memory Request) signal, and transmits a GPOSREQ signal to a PDE(S6). The PDE receives a GPS signal of the MS according to the determined method(S7). The PDE transmits a GPOSREQ response signal to the MPC(S8). The MPC transmits a location result signal to the client server. The client server supplies the location based service to a subscriber(S9).
