A gift bag (10) with napped filamentary surface (12) and having generally parallel front and rear panels (16, 18), a pair of generally parallel side panels (20), and bottom panel (26), and wherein the gift bag has handles (33 ) attached to the panels of the gift bag. The gift bag is completely formed fr om a napped filamentary material, and wherein the bag contains a closure device (70) near the top and/or extending over the top of the bag.
