<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable quality image forming apparatus with a fixing unit having good thermal efficiency in a simple structure, reducing a paper-to-paper space without changing the feeding speed of a transfer material. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprise a plurality of transfer material storage means for storing the transfer material, an image carrier having a toner image mounted on the surface, a transfer means for transferring the toner image on the image carrier onto the transfer material, and a fixing means for fixing the transferred toner image onto the transfer material with heating and pressure.
