<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting a picture size by using feature points with high certainty, and also to provide its device. <P>SOLUTION: The certainty degree of the coincident feature points is calculated concerning an input side picture 1 and a register side candidate picture 2 registered in a database. At least two feature points for adjusting the picture size are selected concerning the input side and register side pictures, based on the degree of certainty.
