<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory control system capable of improving versatility of a system by allowing read control and write control with respect to an external ROM by a command from an external controller. <P>SOLUTION: In accordance with a command from the external controller 6, a read signal control part 4 carries out read control of a flash ROM 2 used as the external ROM, and a write signal control part 5 carries out write control of the flash ROM 2. For example, when the write signal control part 5 inputs a ROM change-over signal and a strobe signal for writing in accordance with the command from the external controller 6, a writing permission signal is outputted to the flash ROM 2.
