PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application method of a battery sealant in which a holiday and an uneven coating can be reduced and a shorter the application time can be achieved as well, and to provide a battery sealant application device. SOLUTION: A battery sealant application device 1 includes a rotatable turret 2. At the turret 2A, a plurality of pockets 2a for holding a battery can BC are formed. Over the pockets 2a, a sealant application mechanism 30 for applying a sealant on the inner wall of the battery can BC is placed. The sealant application mechanism 30 is composed of a rotatable rotor 31 including an insertion section 31b that is inserted into the battery can BC, a motor 32 for rotating the rotor without causing the insertion section 31b to come into contact with the inner wall of the battery can BC, and a dispenser pump 34 for dropping the sealer on the top surface of the insertion section 31b.
