<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition capable of forming a printed matter capable of reading identification data even when using a reading apparatus on which an inexpensive visible light source is loaded. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises a methine-based cation dye as a coloring agent, water, a humectant and a surfactant and is preferably applied to ink for inkjet.
