<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for printing ink binders which does not use, as a raw material, formaldehyde undesirable from the standpoint of environmental sanitation and protection, has good solubility in nonaromatic solvents and plant oils and being suitable not only for offset lithographic printing systems, such as waterless printing, but also for VOC-free type inks. <P>SOLUTION: The method has a first process of reacting a compound having an unsaturated double bond in a hydrocarbon resin containing a five-membered compound residue of formula (1) (wherein H is a hydrogen atom; R is a 1-3C alkyl group; m and n are each an integer of 0-6; and the sum of m+n is 6) and optionally a resin acid in the presence of an organic peroxide to obtain a resin and a second process of reacting the resultant resin with a compound having an unsaturated double bond in one or more selected from organic solvents, plant oils and plant oil fatty acid esters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
