PROCESS FOR PRODUCING BONDED PRODUCT OF ETHYLENE-ALPHA-OLEFIN RUBBER COMPOSITION TO FIBER AND POWER TRANSMISSION BELT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a good bonding of an ethylene/α-olefin rubber composition to a fiber cord used as a core wire of a power transmission belt or a fabric such as a covering canvas or the like.

SOLUTION: The process for producing a bonded product of an ethylene/α-olefin rubber composition to a fiber comprises subjecting the fiber to overcoat treatment with a rubber cement produced by blending 0.05-1.5 pts.mass poly-p-dinitrosobenzene into 100 pts.mass ethylene/α-olefin/diene copolymer rubber and then vulcanization bonding the treated fiber to an unvulcanized rubber composition of the ethylene/α-olefin rubber.
