<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for operating a brake, which apparatus can be easily mounted on a vehicle and can appropriately select the use of colorful resin materials, etc., and to provide a method for mounting the same. <P>SOLUTION: A brake operating apparatus 100 comprises an operating lever 112 for operating the brake apparatus 1, and a housing 110 for swingably supporting the operating lever 112. The operating lever 112 is provided on a frame 205 (and a handle 204) of a wheelchair 200 via a housing 110. The housing 110 comprises a sleeve 141 which is fitted on the handle 204 extending substantially in the horizontal direction from a vertical frame 205 extending toward the seat back of the wheelchair 200, and a gripping piece 151 which is brought into contact with a vertical frame 205 extending in the direction different from the handle 204 and restricts the rotation of the housing 110 about the handle 204. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
