PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which the array pitch of contacts can be made small and precise arrangement of the contacts can be performed to an insulator, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: A plurality of V-shape grooves 31 are formed on the surface of the insulator 3, a nickel layer 51 is formed on the surface of the insulator 3, and the surface of the insulator 3 coated with the nickel layer 51 is so scraped that parts of the nickel layer 51 remain in bottoms of the V shape grooves 31.
