PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus capable of processing and displaying images in an electronic photo-frame without using a personal computer. SOLUTION: The image display apparatus comprises: an acquisition means for acquiring 1st image data, a connection means for connecting the apparatus itself to a facsimile machine; a conversion means for converting a facsimile signal inputted by the connection means into 2nd image data; a selection means for selecting an area to be used for composition from the 2nd image data obtained by the conversion means, a composition means for composing the 1st image data acquired by the acquisition means and the image data of the area selected by the selection means; an image signal generation means for generating an image signal by applying prescribed image signal processing to the image data synthesized by the synthesis means; and an image display means for displaying the generated image signal.
