PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain a radiographic image having high image quality and provided with sharpness and an SN ratio suitable for individual diagnostic imaging in a short period of time. SOLUTION: An image conversion panel P is scanned a plurality of times, and the image data of a plurality of images obtained by performing scanning the plurality of times are added to acquire the image data of one image. An area where last scanning is performed on the panel P (in a specified area) is irradiated with erasing light from an afterimage erasing means 4 concurrently with the last scanning of the panel P. At such a time, since the erasing means 4 and an area where the last scanning is not performed yet on the panel P are optically shielded by a light shielding means 5, the radiographic image information accumulated in the area where the last scanning is not performed is prevented from being lost and spoiled.
