VALVE SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for reducing consumption of lubricating oil by enhancing lubricating performance of a driving pivotal part and a driven pivotal part on both end part side of a rocker arm. SOLUTION: Respective intake valves 2 are opened and closed by transmitting torque of a driving cam 5 to rocking cams 7 and 7 via a link arm 14, the rocker arm 13, and a link rod 15, and valve lift quantity of the intake valves is variably controlled by the rotational movement of a control shaft 17 and a control cam 18. A communicating passage 21 is arranged in the radial direction of the control shaft and the control cam for introducing the lubricating oil in an oil passage in the control shaft into a clearance part 22 between the rocker arm and the control cam. An oil reserving part 23 is arranged in a central upper end part of the rocker arm for introducing the lubricating oil throttled by the clearance part. Oil grooves 24 and 25 are also formed on both end part upper surfaces of the rocker arm for supplying the lubricating oil from the oil reserving part to the driving pivotal part and the driven pivotal part.
