A lighting system (1) for generating special characteristics or light distribution comprises a light source (8) held by a carrier (8.1), a lamp chassis (20 for the carrier as well as at least two screening elements (12) for the lighting system. For swiveling the screening element (12) between an output position and its end position a spindle-nut-system (3) is used in which the spindle producing a rotational movement is driven by a motor (2.4) and the nut (3.2) running on the spindle (3.1) is joined to a free end of the screening element (12) via a coupling element (7) so that the radiation angle and the lighting field changes during an axial movement of the nut (3.2).
