PURPOSE: A charging apparatus is provided to prevent the damages on the teeth of a charging gear by preventing the charging gear from rotating in a reverse direction during input operation of a circuit breaker. CONSTITUTION: A charging apparatus comprises a motor(21) serving as a power source; a charging pole(24) rotating by the rotating force of the motor; a power transmission unit for transmitting the rotating force of the motor to the charging pole; a charging gear(25) arranged at one side of the charging pole, and which rotates by the charging pole; a crank shaft on which the charging gear is mounted; a charging cam(27) mounted on the crank shaft, and which rotates in accordance with the rotation of the charging gear; a clutch unit for transmitting the rotating force to the charging cam side during rotation of the charging gear, and cutting off the rotating force transmitted to the charging gear side during reverse rotation of the charging cam; a crank arm(28) eccentrically connected to the charging cam, and which rotates by the charging cam; and a charging lever(29) having an end fixed at the crank arm and the other end fixed at the top of an input spring, wherein the charging lever stretches the input spring by the crank arm.
