<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a photograph-like high gloss, enhance ink absorbency and upgrade productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The ink jet recording material has a porous ink receiving layer containing an inorganic particle and a polyvinyl alcohol.
