PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having a sharp particle size distribution and to provide a method for manufacturing a toner by which such a toner can be manufactured in a good yield. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner comprises a kneading step in which starting materials including a resin and a colorant as principal components are kneaded using a kneading machine to obtain a kneaded material, a pulverizing step of pulverizing the kneaded material, and a classifying step of classifying a pulverized kneaded material obtained in the pulverizing step. The resin is mainly made up of a polyester resin, wherein this polyester resin comprises a block polyester mainly made up of a block copolymer and an amorphous polyester having lower crystallinity than the block polyester.
