PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system allowing optimum control even in a state where a converter lens is attached. SOLUTION: In the camera system 100, the shake of the entire camera system 100 is detected by an angular velocity sensor 5, and converted to shake amountωthrough an amplifier 14 and an A/D converter 15. The segment position information (m) of an image pickup screen formed on the image forming surface of a CCD 7 through lenses 9 and 10, a shake correction lens 3 and a lens 11 is converted to movement amount (n) through a CCD control circuit 17, an image memory 18 and a movement detection part 19. A CPU 20 performs shake correction by comparing the shake amountωwith the movement amount (n), deciding the existence and/or the kind of the converter lens 2 by referring to a converter data table 21, calculating target position information Ic again, and controlling an actuator driving circuit 16 with appropriate correction amount based on present position information Ir from a PSD 4 and the target position information Ic.
