PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair-dressing agent which has an excellent set-holding force, good usability, and an excellent finishing touch, for hair. SOLUTION: This hair-dressing agent containing an alkylene oxide derivative represented by formula (I) [AO is a 3 to 4C oxyalkylene; EO is oxyethylene; (m) and (n) are the average addition mole numbers of 3 or 4C oxyalkylene groups and oxyethylene groups, respectively; 1≤(m)≤70, 1≤(n)≤70; the rate of the oxyethylene groups per the total amount of the 3 or 4C oxyalkylene groups and the oxyethylene groups is 20 to 80 mass %; R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each identically or differently a 1 to 4C hydrocarbon group or H; the rate of the number of the hydrogen atoms per the number of the hydrocarbon groups of R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>is≤0.15].
