PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating-type garbage drier reduced in energy consumption by providing a volume reducing means for reducing the volume of garbage by air blow drying before the garbage is heat-dried. SOLUTION: External air is fed into garbage 3 by means of an exhaust fan 10 before it is heat-dried. The thermal energy of the external air is utilized to reduce part of the moisture of the garbage 3, and the partially dried garbage is heat-dried.
