PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely guide waterdrops or the like to a water receiving tray and to easily and surely recognize the full conditions of water stored in the water receiving tray. SOLUTION: A hand dryer comprises: a box body with a recessed part embedded in a wall surface or the like; a hand insertion part for inserting hands in the recessed part of the box body; an air blow-off port for blowing off gas to the hands inserted to the hand insertion part; an air supply means for supplying the gas to the air blow-off port; a water receiving part for receiving the waterdrops or the like blown away by the gas blown off from the gas blow-off port; the water receiving tray for storing the waterdrops or the like received by the water receiving part; and a water level recognition means capable of recognizing a water amount stored in the water receiving tray.
