<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the effective thickness reduction of a touch panel at a low cost, since a display area being a section to be visualized and operated by a user is formed to be thin, while maintaining the same thickness of the peripheral edge of the touch panel and the same member configuration required for manufacturing the touch panel as that of a conventional one. <P>SOLUTION: As to a touch panel 1 on which a fixed electrode 20 and a movable electrode 30 face each other at a predetermined interval, the thickness h1 of a display area A in the middle part is configured to be thinner than the thickness h2 of a peripheral edge B and a bridging spacer 5 placed in the interval is fixed to both the fixed electrode 20 and the movable electrode 30, so that the thickness of the display area A can be steadily held. Thus, the effective thickness reduction of the touch panel 1 can be achieved while maintaining the same thickness of the peripheral edge and the same member configuration or the like as that of the conventional one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
