PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device of a continuous discharge type which can improve the discharging efficiency and the repeating discharge frequency of a liquid droplet in an ultrasonic type and which can realize the high density arrangement of heads. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording device includes a recording liquid holding chamber for holding a recording liquid for ink jet recording, a piezoelectric element, a sound wave generating means including a pair of formed electrodes on the opposed surfaces of the piezoelectric element, a sound wave concentrating means for concentrating the sound wave generated from the sound wave generating means to the vicinity of the liquid surface of the recording liquid, and a drive signal generating means for generating a drive signal for driving the sound wave generating means. A vibrator has a main vibrator connected to the drive signal generating means and a sub-vibrator smaller than the main vibrator and supplied with the drive signal according to image recording information.
