PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmission apparatus (facsimile machine or the like) capable of preventing an erroneous operation at designation of a destination by an abbreviated number or the like. SOLUTION: The information transmission apparatus is configured as an apparatus for preparing an abbreviation/group number entry menu (as shown in Fig.) and a FAX purpose basic menu respectively as a menu for entering an abbreviation/group number and a menu for indicating contents of abbreviation information/group information selected by the entry of the abbreviation/group number and for revising the displayed menu from the abbreviation/group number entry menu into the FAX purpose basic menu after a lapse of a time when a user requires to confirm the abbreviation/group number entered by the user itself.
