PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring bacteria by which the ability for detecting bacillus is improved, and to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: An antibiotic for changing the shape of the bacillus is added to a specimen to prepare a sample liquid. A light-emitting time and intensity of a forward scattered light are detected from each particle included in the sample liquid as size informations, and a scattergram is formed by using them as parameters. The bacillus morphologically changed by a cell wall-synthesis inhibitor has a long and slender shape, and the signal of the bacillus appears at a position different from those of an impurity and other bacteria on the scattergram.
