A nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery which is excellent in output characteristics such as discharging or pulse discharging at a large current during a normal use, has a high safety of allowing current suppression to work at an abnormal time such as external short-circuiting to prevent a rupture, and can deliver a higher capacity. This nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery comprises an enclosure can opened at one end thereof, an electrode body housed in the enclosure can and consisting of a cathode, a separator and an anode, a nonaqueous electrolyte housed in the enclosure can, and a sealing lid group for tightly sealing the opening of the enclosure can via an insulation member, wherein the sealing lid group is in the form of a hole-free plate and is provided with a PTC element having an easy-to-break portion breakable on an internal pressure rise attendant on a produced gas.
