<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink ribbon which has the proper property of adhesion to a base sheet and proper resistance to heat of a heating thermal head, and which has a back layer preventing the occurrence of burning onto a back layer of the thermal head. <P>SOLUTION: A thermal recording material, which is composed of the base sheet, a thermal recording layer provided on one side of the base sheet, and the back layer, provided on the other side of the base sheet, is formed in such a manner that a polyurethane resin serves as a film forming component.
