PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly execute temperature regulation control and to prevent slip of a moving member, driving torque increase, and the like at the same time, in a device having a fixed and supported heating body 16, a moving member 20 sliding with the heating body, and a pressing member 22 for forming a nip N by coming into press contact with the heating body through the moving member, and used for heating a heating material by heat from the heating body through the moving member by introducing the heating material P between the moving member and the pressing member of the nip to catch and carry it. SOLUTION: This heating device has a first temperature detection means 18 disposed adjacently to or in contact with the moving member 20; and a second temperature detection means 19 adjacently to or in contact with the heating body. A device control means 21 detects the temperature of the moving member by the first temperature detection means, executes the temperature regulation control based on the detection temperature thereof, detects the temperature of the heating body by the second temperature detection means, and determines whether or not a current is carried to the heating body before starting the running drive of the moving member based on the detection result thereof.
