PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head operating stably by sustaining stable ink state at a nozzle section without requiring a troublesome nozzle recovery means of preliminary ejection, suction purge, or the like, or an intricate control system, and to provide a recorder and a recording method employing it. SOLUTION: The ink jet head comprises an ink chamber provided with an ejection opening plate having at least one ink ejection opening and a substrate disposed oppositely to the ejection opening plate at a specified interval, at least one set of electrodes disposed to hold ink in the ink chamber substantially in the ejecting direction of ink drop, a high resistance film provided in a specified region on the ink ejection opening side of the electrode facing the ink ejection opening, a means for forming a specified electric field between at least one set of electrodes, and a means for ejecting ink in the ink chamber from the ink ejection opening.
