PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for humidifying leaf tobacco, capable of performing the humidifying process after the completion of the drying of the leaf tobacco by a natural outside air introduction at any time not limited in early mornings, and without forming a bad change of the leaf tobacco since without requiring a humidifier so as to improve the working rate of a bulk drying device economically. SOLUTION: This method for humidifying the leaf tobacco is provided by measuring relative humidities in a drying chamber after the completion of the drying of the leaf tobacco and in outside air, introducing outside air into the chamber for humidifying the leaf tobacco only in the case that the humidity of the outside air is higher than that of the inside, and stopping the introduction of the outside air at a point when the drying chamber reaches the relative humidity so that the leaf tobacco becomes to have objective water content.
