PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a puddling apparatus to be mounted on a tractor, so designed that a leveler has such a mechanism as to be selective between leveling operation and earthing-up operation, thus enabling the amount of soil subject to earthing up to be regulated. SOLUTION: The puddling apparatus includes a soil-crushing operation section comprising a machine frame with a mast to be mounted on the tractor, a soil-crushing rotary set on the machine frame, and a rotary cover covering above the soil-crushing rotary. This puddling apparatus also includes the leveler arranged behind the soil-crushing operation section and set on the machine frame so as to be vertically turnable through a retractive device, wherein the leveler includes a rear cover and an earthing-up leveling plate, its leveling depth being settable as desired owing to the retractive action of the device, a locking device is provided in between the retractive device and the lift of the leveler to render the retractive device and a 1st leveler unlockable from each other, thus enabling the leveler to be remote-controllable from a tractor seat. By selecting as desired the height( depth ) position of the earthing-up leveling plate of the leveler relative to a paddy field surface followed by fixation and engagement, an earthing-up operation can be carried out while making the tractor travel.
