PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring luminance values of display panels capable of accurately measuring the luminance of various display pixels having different sizes and shapes. SOLUTION: A grating pattern is displayed on a display panel and imaged. On the basis of its imaging data, the positions of each display pixel is detected. A calibration pattern is displayed and imaged. On the basis of its imaging data, the position of the display panel is detected. They are taken as reference positions of each display pixel and the display panel. After the calibration pattern is displayed on a display panel 2 for luminance value measurements, and the set position of the panel is calibrated at the reference position of the display panel, an inspection pattern is displayed and imaged.
