PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cokes for a blast furnace with excellent cold strength (DI) and strength after reaction (CSR), while restraining generation of fayalite on the bricks of the walls and bottom of the coke oven, and damage to the bricks in the carbonization chamber. SOLUTION: In this method for manufacturing a ferrocoke in a chamber type coke oven, storing hoppers 5, 6 and 7 are disposed above each charging port at both oven wall sides and at the central part of the oven top portion of the carbonization chamber in the oven width direction. Charging shoots 5-1 and 6-1 are installed under the storing hoppers 5 and 6, respectively. After coal is charged to areas near the two oven walls and oven bottom beforehand, via charging shoots 5-1 and 6-1, from the storing hoppers installed on both the oven wall sides, a mixture of coal and a powdery iron source for which the average water content has been adjusted to 6 mass% or less by previously-performed drying, is charged via a charging shoot 7-1 from the storing hopper 7 installed at the central part to the carbonization chamber 1. Afterwards, the cokes are manufactured through dry distillation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
