A heat exchanger for an air conditioning system has an array of parallel louvres (4) in thermal contact with pipes (3) for cooling or heating fluids and with an air stream conducted through the unit by the louvres. The output ends of the louvres are bent to generate selected patterns of output airflow, e.g. for improved distribution in a room. The louvres are arranged in groups with each group having the ends bent by different amounts, and with the louvres of each group with similar spacing. The bent end are either simply bent about straight lines or can be curved. The louvres in the centre of the heat exchanger are straight, with the adjacent louvres having progressively steeper bends. |
