MAGNETIC RECORDING DISK DRIVE WITH CONTINUOUS CONTACT AIR-BEARING SLIDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous contact recording disk drive in which wear is not caused in a slider and a disk.

SOLUTION: A disk drive 10 realizes continuous contact recording with a head-suspension assembly that compensates the moment generated from adhesive force between the slider 22 and the disk 14. When the disk 14 is rotated at its operational speed, a slider pivot point 70 being the point at which lord force is applied to a flexure 50 supporting the slider 22 is located closer to an front end part 66 of the slider than net force FABSapplied by the air-bearing surface of the slider 22. Thereby, moment is generated around the pivot point by net air-bearing force FABSand the flexure moment and the moment generated from the adhesive force between the disk and a contact pad 60 of the slider are surely and partially counteracted.
