PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner such as an engine-driven air conditioner wherein both of an injection function for increasing the flow rate of a refrigerant of the compressor and a reduction function for reducing the the flow rate of the refrigerant of the compressor can be achieved in one compressor. SOLUTION: This air conditioner comprises an injection passage 5 performing the injecting operation for increasing the flow rate of the refrigerant to a compression chamber of the compressor 13, when the air conditioning requested-load is high, a reduction passage performing the reducing operation for reducing the flow rate of the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 13, when the air conditioning requested-load is low, and control valves 4, 8 for switching an ordinary operation mode for closing the injection passage 5 and the reduction passage 3, a mode for performing the refrigerant flow rate increasing operation by opening the injection passage 5, and a mode performing the refrigerant flow rate reducing operation by opening the reduction passage 3.
