PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the good wiping capability of a wiping material without setting a cleaning mechanism for the wiping material or without carrying out a replacement work of the wiping material. SOLUTION: The device is configured to switch a butting position 7a of the wiping material 7 to a nozzle plate by a maintenance mechanism of an inkjet printing head 2 which removes ink or foreign matter remaining at the nozzle plate 300 by butting the wiping material 7 formed of an elastic material against the nozzle plate 7 where a plurality of nozzles are formed to communicate with a plurality of pressure chambers that hold ink, respectively, and by moving a mechanism 8 which supports the wiping material 7 along the nozzles.
