The top face (5) of the floor covering (1) is fitted with edged granular particles (6) forming a rough nonslip surface to the covering. The covering comes in rectangular shape having a closed tread edge (7) signalled in color. The outside edge (8) of the tread (7) is rounded off and fitted with hard granular particles as is the adjoining endface (9). The honeycombed covering surface (1) is in part closed off by a continuous cover (10).
